BABELstudio is an architecture studio founded in 2011 by Michael Schmidt, Andrea Emmanuel Laredo and Andrea García Crespo. Based in Bilbao, the team focuses on the research, development, and construction of various public and private architectural projects and also participates in national and international competitions.

Primarily specializing in the field of rehabilitation, their work centers on the recovery and revitalization of unused spaces, as well as the exploration of new architectural concepts at functional, spatial, and constructive levels.

Notable projects include the rehabilitation of the Azkarraga Farmhouse, a finalist in the 2022 COAVN awards; the Orientation and Employment Entrepreneurship Center in Vitoria-Gasteiz, winner of the competition sponsored by Lanbide; the Oslo Cowork workspace; the Meraki artistic creation space; and various interventions in commercial spaces, offices, and residences.

Their work has been widely published in numerous architecture and interior design media worldwide, including Mark, Arquitectura Viva, On, DETAIL, Dezeen, Architectural Digest, and Frame.
